David is a filmmaker based in Brooklyn, originally from Nashville.
Recently, he co-produced You Can See Everything, a documentary feature from A24 directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim.
He also just directed his second music video for Steve Martin and Alison Brown. (The first is up for Music Video of the Year at the 2026 IBMA Awards.)
In 2025, he directed and edited A Place in the World, a documentary short executive-produced by Oscar nominees Steven Ascher and Jeanne Jordan.
Previously, he contributed editorial work to the HBO docuseries Love Has Won (2023), the documentary feature Some Kind of Heaven (2020), and three New York Times Op-Docs (here, here, and here).
He’s made a bunch of music videos for Austin Weber too, some sillier than others.
A billion years ago, David graduated from Harvard, where he was an Artist Development Fellow and a Hasty Pudding librettist. His senior film, the documentary short Lewiston (2019), premiered at the Camden International Film Festival.
